The End of All Things is coming closer every day!

Romans 13:11 – 14

What a time it is to be alive! It is amazing to see the things going on around the world. Not only do we have a global pandemic, but utter chaos is erupting in major cities across the United States and around the world. Good is being loudly declared evil and evil, good. In stead of peace, division is being radically increased. More and more, Christianity is being declared the enemy. Unbelief is the greatest pandemic of all! God destroyed the nation of Israel TWICE because of their unbelief and their acceptance and embrace of other religions. We, who live in these once free countries and everyone else on this planet are living right in the path of the wrath of God. We are at the end of all things. What do we do?

Romans 13:11 – 14

The whole world is in crisis and chaos. But what an exciting time to be alive! Bible prophecy is playing out before our very eyes! This is our wake-up call! Right now, today, our final destination is so close. The very day is at hand when Jesus will come in the clouds to take us home.

I. Know the Times v 11

    1. What time IS it? It is the day of salvation! “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” 2 Corinthians 6:2
      1. If you’re not saved, NOW is the time. Be SURE of where you’re going! Being good won’t help – you must be SAVED! “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21 – 23
        1. What IS the will of the Father? – that you put your faith in his Son, Jesus Christ! Jesus said, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40 How can we be sure we are saved?? “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” Acts 16:31
    2. What time IS it? It is the end of all things!! “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1Peter 4:7 The end is coming. It’s very close and every day is closer – we KNOW it is at HAND – be sober and PRAY!!

II. High Time to Wake Up!

  1. The whole world has been sleeping in the darkness of heathenism and sin. You, Christian, have reached the morning light of salvation. Wake up! We’ve been sleeping long enough!!
  2. Now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
      1. The moment we put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour, our destination was secured. Our sins are all pardoned! Our guilt is all gone! We’re saved by the blood of the crucified One! If you have repented and trusted Christ as your Saviour, you HAVE eternal life. Jesus Christ is coming back for you! “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” 1 Thessalonians 4:16
      2. Eternity is close at hand and gets closer every day. Jesus is coming back! Our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. We are saved and given everlasting life the moment we put our faith in Jesus Christ, but we still live in this fallen world in these dying bodies. Our salvation is completed when we are raised incorruptible! “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51,52
      3. What are we raised to? “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,” 1 Peter 1:4
      4. Are you ready for eternity? It’s close!!
      5. We don’t see it clearly, yet, but the day is coming soon when we shall see our Saviour face to face. Then we will understand. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2

III. The Day is at Hand v 12

  1. The time for sleeping is OVER! Reality is here! The light has chased away the darkness! All is exposed! The LIGHT has come! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:1 – 5,9
  2. Therefore, stop living like it doesn’t matter.
    1. Put off the old ways; get rid of the garbage in your life!
    2. Pay attention – your works are visible!
    3. This is the day
  3. Put on the armour of light.
    1. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:11 – 13
    2. What is that armour of God, that bright and shining armour of light?
        1. Truth and righteousness – Ephesians 6:14
        2. The gospel of peace – Ephesians 6:15
        3. Faith – Ephesians 6:16
        4. Salvation and the Word of God Ephesians 6:17
        5. Prayer and perseverance and again, prayer for one another Ephesians 6:18

IV. Walk an Honest Walk v 13

  1. Walk as in the day
    1. We are children of the DAY!
    2. Do not walk in rioting and drunkenness, sleeping around, animosity and envying.
      1. These things are the things that are done by the world under cover of darkness, because they are ruled by darkness. Those in the world are the children of wrath and they are under the wrath of God, which is to be poured out sooner now than ever before: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” Romans 1:18
      2. Make no mistake – the day of wrath IS coming! God is a God of love, mercy and kindness: yes!! But God is also a God of justice, righteousness and wrath.
      3. It’s not OK to ignore God or to worship any other god, including the god of self and self indulgence! “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” Exodus 34:14
      1. We are children of the DAY; we have no place or fellowship in the things of the darkness: “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:5
        1. Wake up! Walk in the light, which is Jesus Christ – John 1:9

Conclusion

It is the end of all things, “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” v 14 God told the Apostle Peter to write, “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1Peter 4:7 Now it is closer than ever, and all around us we see the signs that the world is soon to come under the wrath of God. This should not be a surprise to us! God has warned us. Perilous times are here. But as God’s own children by faith in Jesus Christ, we are to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof. Walk in the Light of Jesus Christ.

(Make sure you’re saved. If there’s any doubt, then today, while there’s still time, put all your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Saviour. If you are saved already, WAKE UP and look around you. This world is crumbling and is not going to last much longer. Christian, trust God to lead the way and stop trusting the same things that the children of this world keep trusting! We are his children. We are not and never will be under his wrath. Jesus Christ IS coming again. Let him find us faithful.) Amen
